The Worldwide Alliance of Martial Artists

The WAMA Alliance is devoted to ensuring the quality of the martial arts around the world today.  This organization was founded in 1980 by Soke Grandmaster Alan Kates, 10th Dan, and its purpose is to align high quality martial arts schools and organizations around the world, who are dedicated to maintaining the true traditions and integrity of the Arts.

Soke Grandmaster Kates has been fighting to rid the martial arts of politics and "paper-passing" for over 45 years.  He continues his fight through WAMA by closely examining the qualifications of all WAMA members, in addition to monitoring the quality of testings and promotions.  In doing so, Grandmaster Kates has grown the WAMA organization to an alliance of hundreds.

While guarding martial arts standards, Soke Grandmaster Kates has spread the name of Sa-Gi-Do across the world.  Grandmaster Kates has become certified and recognized as the Founder of Sa-Gi-Do in the USA, Korea, Spain, Greece, Brazil, England, Germany, Phillipines, Canada, India, and Japan.  This means that as long as a student remains a WAMA member and Sa-Gi-Do practitioner, Soke Grandmaster Kates has ensured that they are a part of something world reknown, and that the style of Sa-Gi-Do will live forever.
